Card #4

Card #4 was the first graphite drawing and was not my favorite (though it can be yours and that's ok).  The techniques used in colored pencil are very different than graphite pencil and adjusting can be difficult.  When I look at this that's what I remember happening.  Not to critique my own drawings too harshly, this one seemed cropped too tight and I didn't like how much I covered her face up.  I lost the ability to show more expression on the monsters face, as well as her face.  I think if I could have gotten used to the pencil a little bit before launching into this I'd have been better off.  I still think it's decent, but not my best.
Sometimes art doesn't go well.  Sometimes I will do 3-5 drawings I love and then another 10 that just get stuck in the first stages, because they don't seem to come together.  For whatever reason, genius is sometimes like lightning in a storm, it strikes often, but sometimes its just all in the clouds.
