This blog may not be as exciting as the daily doodle (Daily Doodle http://mydoodledaily.blogspot.com/), but I wanted to dedicate a blog to the historic 120+ Art Cards I created back in college and maybe tell a little story about them. I will dig out the email list of those who purchased the cards and chronicle them for posterity. No guarantee the emails still work.
This card was an experiment to say the least. I found the term ACEO from some random Google search. The format was perfect for my interests and available time. As a college student we were wonderfully poor and I figured a few extra dollars would be awesome. I sold the cards on eBay. I guessed that I would net a few dollars per card. I found out quickly the cards would fetch much more than expected. I don't have the exact price paid for each card (well, I do, but I'm not gonna dig it out), but most fell somewhere between $15-30. As a young artist, for a 2.5"x3.5" card that was exciting for me.
This Mr. Green was crafted as a fun, simple, nearly monochromatic (greens) adventure. It turned out very well and I was off on an adventure in artcards!
